How can my school participate in Go Green Initiative-Green Schools Program? For more information on the Go Green Initiative-Green Schools Program please visit: www.gogreeninitiative.org
How will this affect GAACS services? In the effort to Go Green there will be some major improvements to the administrative services, the way applications are processed, and response time.
Administrative Services: All paper or downloadable application forms: Application for Membership, Religious Exemption, Site Visit Request form, etc will discontinue effective December 31, 2009. Schools must submit application forms: Application for Membership, Religious Exempt Application, Site Visit Request Form, Institutional Annual Report (IAR), Conference Sign-up, Training Registration, etc electronically effective January 1, 2010. Schools must submit an electronic Accreditation File instead of the traditional 3 ring binder Accreditation Folder.
Volunteer/Community Service Hours: All middle and high school students attending participating member schools are eligible to receive community hours to meet graduation requirements through the GAACS Adopt-a-Street program.
Resource Section: This page will be updated periodically with information to promote green initiatives such as Green School Buildings, Environmentally Friendly Curriculum, Green Service Learning, and more.
